Cecelia Halle
is a preservationist, designer, and architectural historian based in Cambridge, MA. She holds a M.S. in Historic Preservation from Columbia University and a B.A. in Art History from the George Washington University.
Experienced in qualitative research methods, Cecelia is dedicated to historic preservation centered on cultural stability and community resilience.
From 2020-2023, Cecelia worked as a communication designer for the cultural vitality program at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. Working as a designer in the field of cultural heritage, Cecelia collaborated closely with her colleagues—from language revitalization specialists to film programmers—to place community at the forefront of her practice.
Her research interests include cultural displacement, revanchism, LGBTQ history, and (late )modernist architecture.
In her spare time, Cecelia plays music with her friends in Firewalker and Bygone and collects books about the architecture of her hometown, Cambridge, MA.
